About Us
We are the Philanthropic Nonprofit Partner to Haleakalā National Park.
Haleakalā Conservancy was born from a deep love for Haleakalā and a recognition of the critical need for support beyond what the National Park Service alone could provide. Incorporated in 2019 by a group of passionate community members, we have been able to grow our support each year to fund priority projects designed and executed by Park staff. From protecting endangered birds to preserving sacred sites, our projects have a tangible impact.
Our Mission
Haleakalā Conservancy serves as the philanthropic partner to Haleakalā National Park to protect the Park's exceptional native ecosystems, cultural resources, and scenic beauty, fostering appreciation and stewardship for present and future generations.
Our Vision
We envision a thriving Haleakalā National Park, where native ecosystems flourish, cultural sites are honored, and visitors are inspired to become lifelong stewards of this extraordinary place.
Our Focus
Our work is focused on three pillars — preservation, conservation, and education — all aimed at ensuring that future generations can experience and appreciate the unique beauty of Haleakalā. The Park is an incredible resource for the Maui community and visitors alike. However, the park faces significant challenges due to limited resources and funding.
Without additional support, many important programs and initiatives will be left unfunded, putting our natural and cultural resources at risk.
Embracing collaboration
Our work centers on collaboration. We work hand-in-hand with Haleakalā National Park, leveraging resources and expertise to tackle the park's most pressing challenges. We also partner with local communities, businesses, and other organizations, forging a network of passionate stakeholders.
We believe in the power of education and outreach, engaging visitors and the community to cultivate a sense of connection and responsibility for Haleakalā.
Our work is guided by a core set of values that shape our approach and decision-making.

Haleakalā National Park encompasses more endangered and endemic species than any other national park in the United States. The Park also protects a variety of unique cultural and natural resources. Financial support through Haleakalā Conservancy allows the Park to preserve the resources and wildlife that make it special. Many national parks have groups that financially support their efforts, as government funding simply does not cover all of their needs.
