Haleakalā National Park Specialty License Plate

At Haleakalā Conservancy, we are excited to announce our new project oversight of the Haleakalā National Park specialty license plate program. The design for this stunning plate was donated to the Park by Sae Designs, a Maui graphic design company. It features breathtaking landscape views of the Haleakalā crater along with two of Haleakalā’s native species, the nēnē and the ‘āhinahina (Haleakalā silversword).

As the philanthropic partner to the park, we will be giving back 90 percent of proceeds from the Haleakalā specialty plates to the Haleakalā National Park for funding critical projects that support natural resource & wildlife conservation, cultural preservation, and education & career opportunities.

“The specialty plates are a great way to show your state pride and support the protection of natural and cultural resources,” said Natalie Gates, superintendent of Haleakalā.

How much does the Haleakalā specialty plate cost?

Initially, the plate costs $35.50. There will be an annual $25 fee for the specialty plate when renewing your registration. After DMV processing fees, 90% of the initial costs and annual renewal fees will go straight back to Haleakalā National Park.

How can I get my Haleakalā specialty plate ?

Walk-in or make an appointment at any one of your local DMV’s in the state of Hawai’i and ask to purchase the ‘Haleakalā specialty plate’. You will need both your old plate and a current safety check, as well as your chosen form of payment.

Thank you for making your contribution to the Haleakalā National Park through our specialty license plate program and for representing our beautiful mountain and natural resources wherever you go.
